This is usually caused by the rotation of the pump head wheel and the flange edge. The usual cause of this damage is that the hose inside the pump head is too long, and when the peristaltic pump is running, the hose in the pump head swings and contacts the flange edge of the wheel, causing the flange edge to constantly rub and cut the pump tube. This will accelerate the damage process, and usually the tube will be completely broken in a few minutes.
Solution
When installing the card pump tube, make sure that the pump tube inside the pump head is straight and there is not too much hose wrapped inside the pump head. Meanwhile, clip the plastic clips near the inlet and outlet of the hose close to the pump head to prevent the silicone tubing for peristaltic pump from loosening and running off during operation.
The silicone tubing for peristaltic pump is flattened, loses resilience, and has thin walls, with severe surface wear.
Reason
This phenomenon is usually caused by the jamming of the wheel or some impurities on the surface of the pressure block of the pump head or the wheel, as well as the high rotation speed. After the wheel of the peristaltic pump head is jammed, it will directly scrape the silicone tubing for peristaltic pump, which will increase the friction of the hose surface, causing the surface temperature of the hose to rise sharply and wear the hose surface. The high temperature will also make the silicone tubing for peristaltic pump lose its elasticity. If the temperature exceeds 140℃ it can even cause the tube to melt and deform.
Solution
Pay attention to check whether the rotation of the wheel of the peristaltic pump head is flexible; clean the pressure block surface of the pump head properly; and appropriately reduce the speed of the peristaltic pump.
The pump tube of the silicone tubing for peristaltic pump becomes brittle, hard, loses elasticity, changes color, dissolves and breaks.
Reason
The silicone tubing for peristaltic pump cannot transport this kind of liquid, which will corrode and dissolve the hose.
Solution
Find the hose material that will not be corroded by the liquid that you cannot transport, and accurately choose the hose according to chemical compatibility experimental data. Or take some samples of the hose for immersion experiments to determine that the hose will not be corroded by the liquid.
